B. Stephen Sanders, MD, MPH
Dr. Stephen Sanders is a native of Geneva, Alabama. He received his undergraduate degree in History
from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He received his medical doctorate from the University of
Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Sanders additionally obtained a master's degree, with concentration in
Health Policy and Management, from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Sanders completed
residency training in Family Medicine at Baptist Health System in Montgomery, Alabama, where he
served as Chief Resident. In addition, Dr. Sanders has completed training in hospice and palliative
medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is board eligible in
Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Sanders currently is an attending physician in multiple long-term care facilities throughout southeast
Alabama and the north Florida panhandle.
Dr. Sanders and his wife, Alison, are the proud parents of two young boys, Austin (age 5) and Harrison
(age 2). He and his family are active members of First Baptist Church, Dothan, AL. In his spare time,
Dr. Sanders enjoys running, biking, and spending weekends at the beach with his family.
